The collection consists of manuscripts and published material relating to the Irish Fusiliers of Canada (The Vancouver Regiment) by Capt. W.D.M. Sage, Col. D.F. Spankie and Marcus Cunliffe. The Irish Fusiliers of Canada (The Vancouver Regiment), first known as the 11th Irish Fusiliers, was organized in 1913. Many members served in World War I and World War II. It ceased to be an active unit at the end of 1964. Also included is a nominal role of officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 29th Battalion, 1915.
The fonds contains subject files which consist primarily of incoming correspondence, both personal and business, typescripts of outgoing correspondence to Vera Thompson, receipts, two notebooks with various writings and newspaper clippings.

Fonds consists of two copies of a 37 page autobiography, entitled "My father's boyhood in Vancouver," and relating to the early childhood and adolescent experiences of Ian C. Nicholson. Manuscript was written by Ian in 1970, at the age of 71, and covers the period 1905 to the end of World War I. Manuscript includes considerable detail on turn of the century life in Kitsilano point. Topics covered include his education experiences, playing on the Kitsilano Indian Reserve, fish canneries and fishing industry along the south shores of English Bay, and early Vancouver companies and landmarks. Manuscript also covers the business activities - primarily printing and a movie theatre - of his father James C. Nicholson.
