Biographical history
Elizabeth Abbott was the daughter of R.H. Alexander, an early Vancouver pioneer. She was married to J. L. G. Abbott, a Vancouver lawyer.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of four letters written by William Hart-McHarg, the law partner of J.L.G. Abott, to Elizabeth Abbott; clippings and newspapers covering the wars; and photographs of McHarg in uniform. Fonds also consists of two photograph albums containing family photographs and commercial Edward Bros. photographs.

Immediate source of acquisition
Photographs in "CVA 256" were donated by Mrs. Helen Abbott in 1980. The rest of "AM753" was donated by Mrs. Helen Abbott in 1981.

CVA 256 was moved from existing as a stand-alone fonds to a series under the Elizabeth Abbott fonds (AM753).
