Biographical history
J. George McDonald was born in Tiverton, Ontario, and was associated with General Motors before moving to Vancouver in 1909. From 1909 until 1919 he served as B.C. field representative for the automobile manufacturer. In 1919 he formed a partnership with J. McKenzie Bowell, Bowell-McDonald Motor Co. Ltd., which lasted 31 years. A prominent Vancouver businessman, he served as president of the Vancouver Motor Dealers' Association and B.C. representative on the Federation of Automobile Dealers of Canada.
