Fraser River Coalition fonds

The fonds consists of textual records related to the concerns, areas of interest and actions of the Fraser River Coalition and are defined by the region in and around the Fraser River and more specifically the area around Vancouver International Airport.
Minutes of Coalition meetings that occurred mostly monthly with a few special meetings from 1977-2006. There are minutes of the Vancouver International Airport Authority at which various Coalition members were attendees. YVR Environmental Advisory Committee minutes from 2005 are also included. Newspaper clippings, publications, pamphlets and notes are grouped into topics of interest generally around an environmental or wildlife issue within the Fraser River area including the Delta Port Expansion, UBC Pacific Spirit Park cliff erosion management planning and environmental assessments both provincially and nationally. Funding applications including the Vancity Community Partnership Program Form which funded the Fraser River Coalition Pamphlet series in 2003. These ten pamphlets describe and educate on areas of concern within the Fraser River. Correspondence to and from the Fraser River Coalition with the following: local community groups, Minister of Environment and Transportation, Deputy Prime Minister, Mayor, City Council in New Westminster and Vancouver as well as the Planning Departments of both regions as well as community members.

Fraser Valley Milk Producers' Association fonds

The fonds contains minutes, milk agreements, membership records, financial papers, published records, ledgers, a membership index, manuals of operation, pamphlets, historical manuscripts and ephemera, speeches by Dan Nicholson (President of the Association), papers relating to the British Columbia Royal Commission on Milk (1954-1955), and transcripts of interviews with pioneers. Also included are scrapbooks, audio tapes of annual meetings, and photographs. The fonds also includes records of Royal Dairies Limited (originally Young Hoy Limited). Photographs in the fonds depict the construction of the Burnaby plant (1962-1963) and various photographs pertaining to the Association and the Fraser Valley in general. The fonds is arranged into 23 series.

Collection consists of television programs created by Gordon Inglis in an informal partnership with Alan Shiveral and Around the Bend Productions (Gordon Inglis, Jayne Akizuki, and Alan Shiveral).

The collection contains examples of Gordon Inglis and Alan Shiveral's early work together at the community television station Vancouver East NTV with the program “Free Wheelin' with Alan Shiveral,” as well as the CBC program it would evolve into with the formation of Around the Bend Productions, “Cycle!”. This program featured the talents of five-time Olympian Charmaine Crooks, cyclist Joan Jones, and reporter Winston Brown. Both shows are informational programs which educate viewers about cycling, including cycling technique, the mechanics of bicycles, the cycling community and lifestyle, cycling products, cycling safety, and popular cycling locations and events.

The collection also contains an example of Around the Bend Productions' forays into other subject matter with the pilot of “In Conversation with Charmaine,” which was to feature conversations with influential British Columbians and was hosted by Charmaine Crooks.
