Item is a recording of a broadcast of Open Line hosted by Jim MacDonald in which he interviews Irving Stowe, James Bohlen, Dr. Robert Ellis and Dr. John Gofman about the Amchitka Island nuclear tests scheduled for September of 1971. Topics discussed include the possibility of earthquakes or tidal waves resulting from bomb detonation, and the health and environmental consequences of nuclear radiation. The latter part of the recording consists of call-in questions and answers from the panel.

Item is an audio cassette containing a recording of the CBC program "Between Ourselves," written by Ben Metcalfe and produced by Bill Terry. The program gives an account of the initiative to sail to Amchitka Island in the Aleutian Islands in an attempt to stop United States nuclear testing on the island. The program combines accounts from those aboard "The Greenpeace," narration of the events on that day, and sound effects to simulate moments on the boat.
