Trademark and Logo Protection

Subseries contains records relating to securing and protecting the organization's "Bid Marks," as well as adhering to agreements regarding their use.

Record include contracts, agreements, memorandums, correspondence, graphic designs, and trademarks.

Clothing and Merchandise

Subseries contains records relating to clothing and merchandise matters conducted by the international relations unit. However, it should be noted that most logo and merchandise matters were handled by the separate Creative and Communications Support unit.

Salt Lake City Games

Subseries contains records relating to attendance by BidCorp representatives at the Salt Lake Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as during reconnaissance trips.

Yee family photographs

Subseries consists of photographs of Gum May Yee and Gordon Yee, their children, and some of their friends and acquaintances in the area of Naicam, Saskatchewan.

Governance records

Subseries consists of records documenting the governance of the Manitoba Sugar Company.

The records are meeting minutes of the Board of Directors of the company, copies of shareholder's meeting minutes, company by-laws and related correspondence.

Taber factory operational records

Sub-series consists of records documenting the operations of the sugar beet refinery at Taber, Alberta, and operational reporting of activities to the BC Sugar head office.

The records in the sub-series are predominantly operational reviews which reported agricultural and refining activities to the BC Sugar head office.

Whistler competition venues records

Subseries contains records documenting the planning, design and construction competition venues in the Whistler region and Callaghan Valley, including:

Diaries

Subseries consists of 10 diaries that contain daily entries of Major Matthews' activities and thoughts. The bulk of the diaries were written between 1946 and 1969; one diary was written in 1931 and records the genesis of the archives in City Hall.

Personal files

Subseries consists of records of Major Matthews' personal life. These comprise correspondence with friends and family, estate records of family members, private property records, wills, Matthews' wartime records, and family photographs. Includes the vital records of Major Matthews and family, such as birth, death, and marriage certificates.

Subject files

Subseries consists of records of Major Matthews' public life. Subjects comprise Matthews' business and public endeavors, such as the Lord Stanley Statue, portraits and memorials of family members and historical figures, property donated to the public, and the City Archives of Vancouver. Includes correspondence to public or private figures associated with Matthews' business matters and photographs of public subjects.

Portfolio material

Subseries consists of approximately 450 pieces of original and conceptual artwork, promotional posters, and camera ready art produced for the Vancouver Centennial Commission and later assembled by the Commission into portfolios. Includes drawings, photographs, transparencies and layouts.

Research and program development files

Subseries consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence, memorandums and some reports relating to research and development of programs for the Centennial year. The files are arranged into two filing blocks: Correspondence and Chronological files.

Special events files

Subseries consists of textual and graphic material relating to the research, planning and execution of various Centennial events and programs. Includes records relating to April 6th 1986, the Historic Plaque Program, New Years Eve 1985, Peace Festival and Symposium, re-enactment of the first Council meeting, Vancouver Day, Coeverden visitors, Canada Day, Sea Festival, Labour Festival, Futures Conference, Grey Cup '86, Expo '86, Castle Vancouver, and the Mayor Gift Program.

Administration records

Subseries consists of correspondence, minutes, legal documents, records pertaining to insurance matters, and other records created through the administrative activities of the Vancouver Centennial Commission.

Subseries consists of records relating to personnel hired to work for the Vancouver Centennial Commission. Includes policies, job classifications and specifications for various staff positions, as well as records pertaining to consultants and volunteers. Audiovisual material

Series consists of videocassettes with footage of or relating to Vancouver Centennial celebrations. Includes footage of Vancouver in 1986, and footage relating to the city's history, the Commission's plans for the Centennial, "The Vancouver Song," (also known as "Vancouver (you'll always look like home to me)," the "Make Vancouver Sparkle" contest and the April 6th birthday party.

Civic decorations files

Subseries consists of correspondence, reports, research material, minutes, photographs, plans and other records relating to civic decorations for the Centennial year. Includes records pertaining to street banners and proposals for decorations.

Community outreach files

Subseries consists of correspondence, reports, speeches and other records relating to Vancouver Centennial Commission outreach activities intended to generate community involvement in Centennial events.

Distribution of funds files

Subseries consists of correspondence, lists, and financial and other records relating to disbursements made for community grants, as well as grants provided by Social Planning, the Department of Communications, and the Secretary of State.
Subseries is arranged into the following four filing blocks: Community grants (mini grants); Social Planning grants; Department of Communications; and Secretary of State.

Special projects

Subseries consists of minutes, correspondence, lists, reference materials, evaluations, publicity materials, etc. pertaining to special projects or other organizations or events in which the council participated. Subseries includes a number of records pertaining to the 1986 World Conference on Arts, Politics and Business, in which the Community Arts Council was a participant.

Financial reports, budgets, and income tax records

Subseries consists of records arising from financial activities such as budgeting, tax return preparation, and other financial activities.
Subseries includes cash books, estimates, income tax records, financial statements, and other records.

Management Committee minutes

Subseries consists of records arising from meetings of the Management Committee of the Vancouver Museums and Planetarium Association.
Subseries includes minutes and agendas, as well as memoranda, budgets, performance appraisal forms, a collective bargaining report, a Workers' Compensation Board inspection report, and other records.

Botanical specimen photographs

The subseries consists of photographs of a specific plant, either showing the whole plant or a close-up of a particular part or parts such as leaves or flowers. Some photographs show multiple plants of the same or closely related varietals or species. Photographs in the subseries were organized alphabetically according to the formal botanical name of the plant featured in the photograph.

VanDusen subject photographs

The subseries consists of35mm slide photographs showing people, garden scenes, special events and other photographs not included in the Botanical specimens subseries (i.e., all photographs where the intent of the photographer was to document a larger scene, site, event or other subject, rather than a specific plant sample. Photographs in the subseries were arranged by the garden library based on a subject vocabulary created by the library, and given titles based on the content of the image.

Provincial Conservative Party records

Subseries consists of constitutions, minutes, convention materials, speeches, notes and other materials created or collected by Ladner. Arranged chronologically.

Incoming correspondence photographs

Subseries consists of photographs removed from J.S. Matthews' incoming correspondence file and previously uncatalogued lantern slides and oversized prints included in Add. MSS. 54. The subjects of the images are wide ranging and include early scenes within and outside Vancouver, pioneers, community leaders and activities, business and industry, government, social and family activities, celebrations, military and any topic the correspondent wished to convey to Matthews.

Fundraising records

Subseries consists of records dealing with raising funds for researching, writing, and publishing "The Story of Dunbar: Voices of a Vancouver Neighbourhood." Records include grant applications, correspondence and records of other fundraising activities such as bake sales.

Collected publications

Subseries consists of publications collected by H.P. Archibald in connection to his interests as an engineer. Included are: publications of the governments of British Columbia, Canada, and the United States; publications regarding specific engineering projects; journals relating to engineering, waterworks, and mining; and various magazines.
