Subseries consists of records created and received by H.P. Archibald in the course of managing his personal financial matters, such as income tax and investment matters. Records include correspondence, investment statements, tax statements, and other records.

Philip T. Timms photographs

Subseries consists of photographs collected by the Vancouver Museum which were created by photographer Philip T. Timms, or were otherwise connected to the Timms family. Subseries consists of photograph on a number of subjects, including: buildings (such as churches, retail stores, banks, and commercial buildings); construction scenes; street scenes (mostly of Downtown Vancouver areas); parks (especially sites in Stanley Park and on Bowen Island); ships and harbours; geological phenomona (such as sand drifts and rock formations); natural history images (such as trees and coastal areas); the Fraser Midden archaeological site; and other areas. Subseries also includes photographs of people and groups, including: church choirs and other groups; parades; people engaged in recreational activities; and members of the Timms family, including Philip Timms.

Photographs

Subseries consists of photographs and negatives documenting both the activities and the staff members of the Health Department. Included are photographs of graphs portraying birth and birth mortality rates.

Subseries consists of photographs, arranged loosely and in files and albums, slides, transparencies and related textual material pertaining to events and activities taking place during the Centennial year and the years previous to 1986. Includes photographs of events organized by the Vancouver Centennial Commission, community events and activities, sporting events, as well as promotional photographs, including photographs of Centennial mascot Tillicum.

Photographs of banners

Subseries consists of closeup and distant views of banners hanging on posts along West Georgia Street, the Georgia Viaduct, Burrard Street and Burrard Street Bridge and Granville Street and Granville Street Bridge. 1981 and 1982 shots also feature closeups of banners in interior displays and in City Council Chambers. Banners featured other than those for the Summer Street Banner Program include sundry 1954 banners, some 1983 private installations on 4th. Avenue and banners for the Pope's visit in September 1984. Also includes photographs taken at unveiling ceremonies and receptions at City Hall, including photographs of banners, artist, and attendees.

Picture Butte factory operational records

Sub-series consists of records documenting the operations of the sugar beet refinery at Picture Butte, Alberta, and operational reporting of activities to the BC Sugar head office.

The records in the sub-series are predominantly operational reviews which reported agricultural and refining activities to the BC Sugar head office. The sub-series also includes employee records.

Picture Butte factory records

Sub-series consists of records documenting BC Sugar's involvement in overseeing the physical plant of the Canadian Sugar Factories sugar beet refinery in Picture Butte, Alberta. The records consist of photographs documenting the construction of the Picture Butte refinery.

Planning Department photographs

Subseries consists of records documenting the Planning Department's continuation of the Shaughnessy landscape and architectural inventory initiated by Robert. G. Lemon Architecture and Preservation for the Shaughnessy Heights Property Owners Association.

The records consist of ca. 4,000 photographs on 4"x 6" index cards showing exterior frontal views of houses, arranged alphabetically by street name, followed by numbered avenues in numerical order. Contact sheets and negatives are also included. Documented is the area from 33rd Avenue to 57th Avenue between East Boulevard and Oak Street.

Portfolio material

Subseries consists of approximately 450 pieces of original and conceptual artwork, promotional posters, and camera ready art produced for the Vancouver Centennial Commission and later assembled by the Commission into portfolios. Includes drawings, photographs, transparencies and layouts.

Presidents' files

Subseries consists of correspondence, minutes, subject files, reports, reference materials, etc., which were maintained by various presidents of the Community Arts Council.

Prevention Contract Services files

Subseries consists of records pertaining to federal, provincial and Vancouver School Board health services delivered on a contract basis by the Vancouver Health Department.

Prevention Services files

Subseries contains records pertaining to prevention services, including the following: screening programs; dental services; communicable disease control and immunization; abuse and family violence prevention; perinatal services; geriatric services; immigrant and refugee services; mental health services; Native Indian health services; nutrition services; occupational health programs; and speech and hearing programs.

Printed matter

Subseries consists of publications, graphic material, posters, applications, brochures, letterhead and cardstock produced by the Vancouver Centennial Commission. Includes issues of the publications "Centennial Update," and "Vancouver Centennial Program"; various pamphlets, brochures and application forms; posters and leaflets; decals; and stationary.
The files are arranged into the following four filing blocks: Publications; Graphics and posters; Applications and brochures; and Letterhead and cardstock.

Program committees files

Subseries consists of minutes, correspondence and other records relating to the activities of the committees and sub-comittees established to plan programs for the Centennial year. Includes records pertaining to the Commission Initiatives Committee; Public Institutions Committee; Community and Multicultural Committee and its Labour, Area Planning, Local Programmers, Disabled Involvement, and Multicultural subcommittees; Arts Committee and its History Resource and Literary Arts subcommittees; Sports Committee and its Planning Committee, Advisory Committee, and Provincial / Regional, Special Events, School / Youth Sports, National / International, and Sports Heritage subcommittees.

Project photographs

Subseries consists of photographs copied from the personal collections of the individuals interviewed for the book "The Story of Dunbar: Voices of a Vancouver Neighbourhood."
The photographs were organized roughly into categories according to which chapter of the book they might be useful for. Categories used include: People and customs; Transportation; Retail and commercial development; Parks; Sports and recreation; Churches; Schools; Arts and culture; Unique people; Architecture; Southlands; and Musqueam.

Property development

Subseries relates to two types of property: City owned property (its own real estate holdings) and all non-City owned property in Vancouver (as considered through the city planning functions). These files document City Council decision-making on the property related issues brought before it. The work of the Properties Division (later Housing and Properties Department, and later still, the Real Estate Division) is represented in the "City property" sections, while the work of the Planning Department is represented in broad planning issues (e.g. commericial, industrial, and waterfront), as well as the more specific "historical preservation", "local area planning", and "zoning" functions. Properties activities were generally supported by opinions from Engineering and Finance, while Planning activities also involved Engineering, Finance, and Social Planning Departments, as applicable. The subseries is divided into the following filing system subdivisions:

Public relations

Subseries contains The New Play Centre newsletters, 1975-1986, The New Play Centre newspapers, 1987-1989, and undated programs and flyers.

Public Relations Department records

The subseries consists of records created and received by the Public Relations Department of the P.N.E. Records include subject files, press releases, correspondence, reports, speeches, and other records. Records relate to: general fair publicity, special events held on P.N.E. grounds, the 1980 Winter Olympics Committee, and other issues.

Public Relations Services

Subseries contains records relating to BidCorp's general communications and awareness program that was directed at local, national, and international media outlets.

Records include advisories, newsletters, correspondence, memorandums, press releases, and media clippings.

Publicity clippings

Subseries contains newsclippings regarding The New Play Centre and its productions, playwright Tom Cone and other playwrights, 1972-1984, the Playwrights' Union of Canada, 1975-1988, and West Coast Players Company, 1973-1976.

Publicity packages

Subseries contains publicity materials: press releases, flyers, brochures, programs, and some publicity rates - regarding a particular production. The files are labelled with the titles of the productions, and are arranged chronologically.

Published materials

Subseries consists of copies of various union newspapers, Typo Times, B.C. Typo Bulletin, Vancouver 226 Typo Bulletin, the Vancouver Typographer, the New World, allied Ocean Roll and On the line bulletin.

[Rain and snow fall registers]

Series consists of bound volumes containing daily measurements of precipitation at different locations in Vancouver, including City Hall, from 1913 to 1955. They are collected by month, usually one volume per year. Measurements are given in inches, to 100ths of an inch. Brief comments on weather conditions, such as "sunny" and "overcast - mild", are also often given.

Raymond factory operational records

Sub-series consists of records documenting the construction of the sugar beet refinery at Raymond, Alberta, and operational reporting of activities to the BC Sugar head office.

The records in the sub-series include photographs documenting the construction of the refinery and operational reviews which reported agricultural and refining activities to the BC Sugar head office.

Raymond factory records

Sub-series consists of records documenting the BC Sugar's involvement in overseeing the physical plant of the Canadian Sugar Factories sugar beet refinery in Raymond, Alberta.

The records consist of an album of photographs documenting renovations and upgrades to the Raymond factory after BC Sugar purchased Canadian Sugar Factories.

Recognition program files

Subseries consists of correspondence, biographies, photographs, an artifact, and other textual and graphic material relating to the planning and execution of various recognition programs held during the Centennial year, including the Distinguished Pioneer Awards, Born in Vancouver program, Seniors Salute, Centenarians Recognition program, 21 Club (those individuals honoured at age 21 in 1936), and babies born on April 6, 1986. Records pertaining to the Distinguished Pioneers include biographies of the one hundred individuals recognized, as well as individuals considered but not honored.
Additional recognition program records transferred by the Commission without file numbers are also described in this series.

Subseries contains records relating to quantitative and qualitative opinion research, including design, field work, tabulation, focus groups, interpretation, and reporting of reports.

Records include correspondence, memorandums, reports, public opinion polls, and market surveys.

Salt Lake City Games

Subseries contains records relating to attendance by BidCorp representatives at the Salt Lake Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as during reconnaissance trips.
