History

Mercer and Mercer Architects was formed in 1940 by Andrew Lamb Mercer and his son John ("Jack") Mercer. Previously, Andrew Lamb Mercer had been a partner in the firm Gardiner and Mercer, a firm which operated from 1912 to 1940. Mercer remained active in architecture until his death on February 28, 1959, and Jack Mercer continued his father's business before selling it in 1970.
