Biographical history
William Turner, Jr., was a boat builder who operated Turner's Boat Works with his father, William Turner, Sr. (1867-1951). Turner, Sr. came to Canada in 1888 and established Turner's Boat Works in 1908. He retired in 1942, leaving his son to run the shipyard. In 1943, a fire destroyed the shipyard, but it was rebuilt and continued to operate until 1958, when Turner retired.
