Biographical history
Archibald F. Murchie was the son of the Vancouver tea and coffee merchant John Murchie. Shortly after beginning his studies at the Chicago Art Academy, he was shot during a drugstore robbery and died March 8, 1925 at the age of 23.

The fonds consists of a pen and ink sketchbook, transcripts of letters and of articles from newspapers and a photomechanical copy of a photograph of the Murchie family.

Originally donated to the B.C. Archives by Mrs. McKenzie (nee Margaret Brackett Murchie) of Calgary and transferred to the City of Vancouver Archives in 1997.
