Biographical history

Ernie H. Reksten (1912-1997) was born in Edmonton AB, he moved to Vancouver in 1936 and lived there the rest of his life. Reksten was an avid amateur photographer.

Custodial history

Slides were in the possession of Donald E. Reksten, the son of Ernie H. Reksten until the time of donation to the City of Vancouver Archives.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of photographs taken by Reksten of Vancouver. In addition to city views of Vancouver his subjects include the Pacific Nation Exhibition (PNE) and Expo 86. Photographs are arranged into two series by photograph subject, the Vancouver series and the Expo 86 series.
