Biographical history
The Electors' Action Movement (TEAM) was formed in early 1968 as a political party at the municipal level. The organization sought to be a moderate reform group appealing to persons of all political ideologies. Its representatives contested the 1968 election and two aldermen, four school board trustees and one park commissioner were elected. Between 1968 and 1972, major political battles over urban renewal and development in several neighbourhoods helped confirm TEAM's image as a progressive citizen and community-oriented party. In 1972, TEAM won majorities on City Council, the School Board and the Parks Board. TEAM has supported the ward system of electoral representation and in 1973 introduced a referendum for a partial ward system.
