Biographical history
W.H. Gallagher was born in Simcoe County, Ontario, in 1864. On completion of his apprenticeship, he went to Winnipeg in 1883 as a builder. In 1886 he settled in Granville, continuing in the general contracting business until 1896, after which date he entered the real estate business. In 1897 he was elected alderman. He died in 1942, the last surviving witness of the first meeting of Vancouver's first City Council.

The collection consists of a list of mortgages issued, 1890-1895; a letter to W.H. Gallagher re sewer connection, 1895; and a portion of a letter re the sale of a house, 1901.
