History

The division was established in 1974 due to a major reorganization with the Park Board of staff and responsibilities. It was formed by combining the divisions of Works and Buildings, Grounds Construction and Maintenance, Income Operations and the Zoo into one component. The Director of this division, with the help of an Assistant Director, was responsible for the administrative and supervisory work involving the direction, development, maintenance and repair of all Park Board facilities, grounds and structures. He directed the collection activities of revenue-producing facilities under the jurisdiction of the division (included Stanley Park zoo, VanDusen Gardens and Queen Elizabeth Park), zoo operations, and aquatic staff. The head of this division reported to the Director of Administrative and Revenue Services division.
