Scope and content

Fonds consists of records arising from the activities of the Vancouver Museum, such as meetings of the Board of Trustees of the Vancouver Museum Association, and exhibitions staged by the Museum. Fonds also contains general administrative records, as well as materials collected by the Vancouver Museum. Records include minutes of meetings, supplementary material for meetings, reports, correspondence, memoranda, budgets, invitations and brochures, lists, forms, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, photographs, publications, and other records.
Fonds contains five series: 1) Board of Trustees records; 2) Director's records; 3) Education Officer's records; 4) E. Pauline Johnson collection; and 5) Thomas Ainsworth's files

Immediate source of acquisition

The E. Pauline Johnson collection was donated to the Archives by the Vancouver Museum in 1979. The remaining records were transferred to the Archives by the Vancouver Museum in 1991. Shirley Cuthbertson donated the Education Officer's records in 2002. Thomas Ainsworth's files were donated by the Museum in 2007.
