Immediate source of acquisition
The initial acquisition of Board of Trade records was received in March 1974 from M. G. Morris, Secretary Manager of the Vancouver Board of Trade. A second accession was donated in 1981 and includes minutes of the Transportation and Customs Committee which were missing from the original accessions as well as reports, submissions and briefs involving the Board and concerning energy, transportation, taxation, labour relations and resource development; annual reports, membership rosters; newsletters; Pacific Northwest Trade Association files; and B.C. International Trade Fair files. A third accession consisting of National Harbours Board annual reports was received in September, 1983 via Rhonda Nicholls on behalf of the Board. A fourth accession was transferred in 1989 and is comprised of full Board minutes, annual reports, newsletters, task force reports and files, and audio visual records. Ephemeral materials relating to the Advertising and Sales Bureau were also received in 1989 from Winston A. Shilvock. Two audio visual items have been transferred to the Sound and Moving Image Division of the British Columbia Archives and Records Service in Victoria. These include one film reel entitled "75 Years of Transportation (1962), and one sound film produced by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce entitled "Competition Law for a Dynamic Economy (1981).
