General note

Information sent to the Archives by this man's grandson:
Man has been identified as William George Lucas, registration B-44436, July 1, 1909-July 11, 1997. Lucas was in the 3rd Anti-Tank Regiment of the Winnipeg Rifles, 3rd Canadian Division, and that "Bill" served in Normandy from June 7 to Aug 12, 1944 on which day he was badly wounded in the Battle of Falaise Pocket in France. He was eventually evacuated from France and spent the rest of the war in Shaughnessy hospital. Hospitalization lasted about a year. As of 2017, he was survived by 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
