History

Tools for Peace is a voluntary organization established in 1981 to collect and send material aid to the people of Nicaragua. The organization began in Vancouver, but quickly grew into a national network of regional committees. In addition to collecting and sending aid, Tools for Peace also directs its activities to increasing public awareness about the revolution in Nicaragua and to pressuring the Canadian government in developing a peaceful solution to Nicaragua's problems.
