The St. Andrew's and Caledonian Society in Vancouver was formed on September 10th 1886. It's objectives were to provide relief and mutual assistance to natives of Scotland and their descendants, to encourage a national spirit and to promote Scottish music and literature. The society sponsored the annual Caledonian Games and held banquets honouring the poet Robert Burns and celebrated St. Andrews Day.
The minute books were presented to the city in 1974 and in 1983.
