Biographical history
Robin Ward was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1950. After leaving school, he emigrated to Canada, where he worked on Hudson's Bay Company fur trading posts and as a miner in northern Manitoba. He returned to Scotland to study graphic design at the Glasgow School of Art. During the 1970's he drew and wrote about Glasgow's local Victorian buildings for the Glasgow Herald, worked as a design manager for BBC Enterprises in London, and published several books on the architecture of Glasgow and Edinburgh. He eventually returned to Canada, settling in Vancouver. He was a weekly contributer to the Vancouver Sun newspaper and has written several books on Vancouver's buildings and northwest coast architecture.
