Biographical history
R.M. Fripp was born in Gloucestershire in 1857. He was trained as an architect. In 1880 he travelled to Australia, went to New Zealand in 1881 and settled in Vancouver in 1888. In 1901 he became a F.R.I.B.A., certificated architect, State of California, 1901-1908, returning eventually to Vancouver. He died in 1917.

The collection consists of a manuscript account by R.M. Fripp entitled "A Short Expedition in B.C.", detailing the journey to the source of Capilano Creek, 1890.
