Scope and content

Series consists of photographs taken of individuals arrested by the Vancouver Police Department, showing a "mugshot" view of front and side portraits of individuals. Persons arrested include men, women, and children primarily related to charges of petty theft, drug use or possession, and prostitution. The majority of photographs in this series date from 1897 to 1912 and have been individually described. The remaining 38 photographs in this file, created ca.1920-1930's, are restricted and have not been described at the item level.
