History

The Northwest Institute of Sculpture was established in 1955 to hold annual conferences and exhibitions for professional and associate sculptors in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, B.C. and Alaska. The organization also promoted wider knowledge and use of sculpture among the general public and acted as an advisory service to interested groups. The B.C. Chapter of the Institute was incorporated in 1957.
