J.R. Munro came to British Columbia in 1888, and ran a contracting business in White Rock ca. 1920. His son, Donald G. Munro, served as postmaster of White Rock ca. 1968.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of correspondence received by J.R. Munro and D.G. Munro; blueprints and advertising material received by J.R. Munro in connection with his contracting business; a blueprint of a building for the Automobile Club of British Columbia on the Pacific Highway, 1927; maps of Surrey and Burnaby; a pioneer's certificate issued to J.R. Munro by the Vancouver Province in 1929; a copy of the United Farmer for 1 August 1920; and an instruction pamphlet for Liberal Party workers in the 1930 election.
