Biographical history

Born Aug. 9, 1888 in Greencastle, Indiana, Karl Haspel moved to Vancouver in 1929. He was an amateur photographer who worked as an electrical engineer for the British Columbia Telephone Company. He retired in 1954 and died May 25, 1971.

The fonds consists of Haspel's photographs of Vancouver and the surrounding area, Coal Harbour, parades, Lion's Gate Bridge, Victoria, Powell River, Mount Baker and California.
