Biographical history
John Leask was a C.P.R. officer, one of the group who surveyed the C.P.R. Grant, the centre of the city from English Bay to Hastings. After the Vancouver fire of 13 June 1886 the group immediately re-surveyed the Granville townsite.
Custodial history
Copy made in 1971 from original loaned by Hastings Mill Museum at 4th & Alma, Vancouver.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of Leask's diary, which includes personal expense accounts and references to the daily progress of the surveying.
