Biographical history

Born in England, James Luke Quiney moved to Canada in 1903. He was a Vancouver real estate agent, cabinet maker and amateur photographer.

The fonds consists of Quiney's photographs (negatives and prints) depicting people, homes and other scenes in Kitsilano, Coal Harbour, False Creek, Vancouver Island, Bowen Island, Lulu Island and elsewhere in British Columbia, as well as Halifax and Oregon. Includes views of vessels in Vancouver harbour.
