Historic markets map of Strathcona
"Almost from the beginning, Strathcona has been home to both business and residences. Some, like the Venice Bakery or Freybe, which started in the back of local Strathcona houses, later became large, well-known Vancouver firms; others such as Benny's Italian Foods, are well known but are considereed local neighourhood secrets . . . . "
Strathcona 2010 : a clear vision for our community
"A vision for Strathcona - of itself and its future - was articulated in the Strathcona Community Plan, approved by the City of Vancouver in June, 1992. Sixteen years later, we want to remain true to the principles of our plan while revitalizing it to face the challenges of a changing and rapidly growing metropolitan Vancouver . . . . "
