Records include proceedings of an appeal case between the federal and provincial governments before the Privy Council regarding Deadman's Island, a volume of maps presented as exhibits in this appeal, and a report of the Lords of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council regarding this appeal. Collection also includes a judgement of the Lords of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council on the appeal of the City of Vancouver vs. the Vancouver Lumber Company (and Theodore Ludgate) and on an appeal from the Court of Appeal of British Columbia. Also included is a receipt for the forwarding of legal documents to the Registrar of the Privy Council in England and correspondence pertaining to the island's lease.

Fonds consists of films photographed and collected by Douglas Scott, predominantly documenting his time living in Hong Kong (China), Victoria (B.C.), and Kamloops (B.C.). The majority of the films document the life of an expatriate family in Hong Kong during the interwar period, rural and urban Hong Kong, and later life in Victoria. Subjects include Scott's first wife, Margaret Scott, and daughter, also named Margaret, as well as boats and ships, the ocean, gardens, and examples of the film medium. Some films appear to document Scott's work with the Texas Company (Texaco), the British America Paint Company (Bapco), the Far East Aviation Co., and his own photography supply business (Scott Camera Co.) in Victoria. The films capture a number of noteworthy events, such as the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Victoria in 1939, King George V's Silver Jubilee parade in Hong Kong in 1935, and construction of the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster (B.C.).

The collection consists of architectural drawings by the architectural firms Burke, Horwood and White, and Horwood and White for the Hudson's Bay Company store building located at on West Georgia Street. The records principally document additions to the building, designed in 1925 and constructed in 1925 and 1926, which brought the building up to its modern footprint.

The collection includes preliminary, construction and as-built drawings pertaining to the 1925-1926 extension. The drawings are primarily mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and electrical drawings, though the collection does contain some drawings of architectural designs. The drawings are depicted as floor plans, elevations, sections, details and schematic diagrams.

The drawings include reference copies of drawings from the construction of the original portion of the store building, designed in 1913. The collection also includes a watercolour rendering of the store done at or after the completion of the building.
