Series consists of correspondence of the City Solicitor's Office (to 1936), the Law Office (1937-1947), and the Law Department (from 1948), relating to legal advice to City offices and boards, and correspondence with Province of British Columbia offices on legislative issues. Arranged in annual sets and therein alphabetically by subject.

Series consists of case files on significant City legal issues, e.g. amalgamations, land and property matters (including disputes with railway companies), etc. Also included are two files of photographs which were kept for their historical interest only. Arranged alphabetically by case file title (with the photographs at the end).

Property matters relating to the former Municipality of South Vancouver

Series consists of records documenting property matters involving the Municipality of South Vancouver, and actions taken by the City of Vancouver post-amalgamation on those files. Records relate to mortgages held by the Municipality of South Vancouver, the Better Housing program, tax sales, and other similar property matters. Many of the records relate to foreclosures due to contravention of the terms of the agreement by which properties had been purchased under tax sale from the Municipality of South Vancouver. The records are agreements for sale, deeds, indentures, correspondence, property appraisals, statutory declarations relating to property transactions, and other records pertaining to the sale of land. Files are arranged chronologically by the date of the original transaction.
