Lady Kee Van Luncheon - Whaling Station at Coal Harbour - River Inlet - Knight Inlet - Jervis Inlet

Item is a film showing the boat (“Lady Keevan”) loaded from a dry dock at Main and Union Streets to a truck to be transported to the water. Film also shows a whale being pulled from the water onto a dock and is cut apart, dock at Telegraph Cove, scenes on the water at River, Knight and Jervis Inlets, and the exterior of the Malibu Club House at Egmont, B.C.

Sawmill fire and Jake Loeppky family

Item is an amateur film documenting family life and a sawmill fire in Vancouver. The film consists of home movie footage filmed by Jake Loeppky, including footage of Queen Elizabeth Park, the Stanley Park Zoo, children playing at the family home in Burnaby, children swimming, and the family entertaining at home. The film also includes footage of a logging camp, a large dam, bears, and people waterskiing. Of particular note is several minutes of footage of the five-alarm fire that destroyed the B.C. Forest Products plant and lumber storage facility at 999 West 6th Avenue on July 3, 1960.

Item is a film showing Wayne McCuaig's seventh birthday party with a pony, a Halloween party, Christmas celebrations 1958, Britannia Beach with friends Laura West and Patsy McCannell, sports day at school, Patricia McCuaig playing the accordion, Queen Elizabeth opening Deas Island Tunnel (now Massey Tunnel) in July 1959, summer camp, water skiing, playing football and time with neighbours.
