Item is a videocassette containing the documentary entitled "Little Sister's vs/ Big Brother", written and directed by Aerlyn Weissman. The film explores the history and mandate of Little Sister's Bookstore and traces the legal battle and court case against the Canada Border Services Agency. The court case centered around censorship, the labelling of books as 'obscene' by Customs Canada and the denial of their entry into Canada. The film includes footage of and interviews with Jim Deva. Bruce Smythe, Janine Fuller, Julie Stines, John Dixon, Gar Fisher, Patrick Califia-Rice, Joseph Arvay, Irene Faulkner, Sarah Schulma, Felice Newman, Frederique Delacoste, Pierre Berton, Jane Rule, Pat Califia, Bill Richardson, Mark MacDonald and Nadine Strossen. The film also contains news clips, home movie footage, clips from Kids in the Hall, Laurier LaPierre, and Royal Canadian Air Farce.

The documentary traces the history of LGBTQ life in Vancouver and shows demonstrations, businesses, legal frameworks, community leaders, night life, AIDS/HIV, activism, neighbourhoods and celebrations. The video contains interviews and archival footage of Bill Richardson, Margo Dunn, Ellen Woodsworth, Esther Phillips, Jamie Lee Hamilton, Rob Joyce, Don Hann, Maurice Flood, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Sarah Davidson, Mary-Woo Sims, Heather Kitching, Jim Deva, Svend Robinson, Tim Stevenson, Ted Northe, Gordon Price, Janine Fuller, Gareth Kirby, Angus Praught, Dennis Dahl, Garry Penny, Jane Rule, Nym Hughes, Libby Davies. The archival footage in the film was provided by the CBC. The documentary was produced, directed and edited by Thomas Donovan.
