The story follows the pilots through the trials, dangers, and joys of the race over the course of almost three weeks. Of the nine planes that started, only six complete the race. Footage shows jets landing, flying, taxiing and taking off. Footage includes shots of other buildings and air hangars. Also buildings and traffic at night, Footage was transferred from film to video before transfer to the archives; sprocket holes can be seen at times. At times there is a ring of shadow around the outer rim of the frame.

Additional footage is included that was shot on the ground of a Sky hawks team breifing with Pierre (shot from several angles), and the men getting dressed for a show and checking each others' parachutes and equipment, airplanes taxing, the Sky hawks team practicing thier show on the ground 'dirt dive,' the men chatting near the airplane, and the Sky hawks team entering the airplane. The16mm release print that the digital child was made from, was struck from the internegative/original negatives, and the optical sound track; it is closest thing to an original in the donation for this production. It is the only record of this movie on film with a soundtrack.
