Item is part one of two, Digital PAL Master, includes textless BG; theatrical feature film released May 1996 at Cannes Film Festival. Yaletown Entertainment Group, Full Circle and G.L.A.S.S. Films present David Naughton, Linda Kash, in a Reto Salimbeni film, "Urban Safari." Starring Jay Brazeau, Donnelly Rhodes, Andrea Nemeth, with Teryl Rothery, David Palffy, Rebecca Toolan, Adriana Tripa, Barry Pepper, Charles Seigel. Executive producers Michael Collier and Reto Salimbeni, Line producer R. The story follows a couple living in New York trying to impress their neighbours and boss by telling everyone that they were going on an African vacation that the Johnson's could not actually afford. Hilarity ensues as they hide out in their own home and various neighbours who have keys to their apartment take advantage of the 'empty' home for the two week vacation period. The small family grows closer in crisis and decide to make some life changing choices.

Everest - tape 1

Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Contains footage of Katmandu street scenes, Everest - Climb for Hope team members, markets, street sellers, pedestrians, traffic, dogs and people sleeping, a brief scene at a restaurant. Everest - Climb for Hope team members walking along a road beside a river, past a small settlement, through mud, past an avalanche of rocks, includes shots of more rocks falling off the cliff onto the pathway, team members and Sherpas/porters following the first group through the danger area of falling rocks, team members pass another village and interact with local children, scenes of a river or stream being forged, packs being loaded onto a van, an immigration office on the road, Sherpas carry a large and heavy box up a steep path, Alan, an ex-American world-class gymnast carries the 250 lb box a few meters. Team members and their gear are assembled in a building, locals gather around at the Zhang Mu Hotel, negotiations are made with a translator to hire Sherpas to carry gear, some Chinese [?] officials can be seen, the line-up of those waiting for work hold on to each other to eliminate the ability for anyone to cut in line [?] or jump the queue, shots of the Sherpas with heavy packs walking away from the Zhang Mu Hotel and more negotiations with the translator near the truck where the supplies are being loaded. Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Ambient noise. Video contains footage of a fire built to burn garbage and the team's trip to [out of] base camp. On the way the truck gets stuck and is dug out; the truck also stops and the team interacts with some local farmers.

Item is original camera tape footage taken for the "Everest - Climb for hope" documentary. Footage includes scenes for men packing, breaking camp, and cleaning. MacIsaac gives an account of the final push to make the summit by three of the team members: Denis Brown, Mario Belladeau and John MacIsaac. Team members sort garbage and do some personal grooming, beard trimming and bathing. The video also includes footage of the Canadian team at a local settlement/monastery. The video ends with an interview with Alan about the communication from Everest with Canadian media.

Includes an interview talking about a phone call that happened between Dennis and some school children at a school in Fort St. James, British Columbia, Canada. The call occurred while the team members were on the mountain climbing during a storm. From north col. Sept. 22, 1991. A group meeting and assessment of progress and plans and the fact that a summit bid may be out of the question due to severe weather conditions. Some wild sound of wind and tents.

Includes an interview with Ernie [Erwin] Sniedzins about the origins of "The Climb for Hope," its beginnings in 1986, Rett Syndrome the disease and its effect on the Sniedzins family, and he compares climbing Mount Everest to tackling the challenges of Rett Syndrome. There is also scenes of Sniedzins walking in the park with his daughter, Sarah, who suffers from Rett Syndrome.
