Item is a Yaletown Productions demo tapes with segments from programs produced. Includes clips of previous productions including "A sense of wonder: Teaching elementary science," "Land above the trees," advertisements created for Vancouver Helicopters, [Alcan Aluminium Limited] or Trade: Securing Canada's Future, B.C. Hydro, SFU, Petro-Canada, and Expo 86. With the Yaletown Productions Inc. logo at the end of the tape.

EXPO 86 - 4-30 sec. commercials - Produced by Yaletown Productions Inc. For Government of Canada - External Affairs

Item is the original. "Expo 86 PSA No. 1" [Public service announcement] produced by Yaletown Productions for the Government of Canada External Affairs Department. Film has four thirty second commericals advertising Expo 86. The commercials feature footage of Vancouver and British Columbia highlighting the city, nature, tourist activities and the Expo site.

Forest Fire - N.W. [Vancouver Civil] Strike - [Woodwards promotions]

Short films are spliced together on this reel. 00:02 - 01:34 shows a forest fire raging and being battled on the ground and from the air. Includes footage of a sawmill. 01:35 - 03:26 depicts workers, with signs, in front of Vancouver City Hall, on strike. Most of the signs read: Negotiate Now: End Civil Strike. 03:27 - 04:22 consists of animated advertisements for Woodward's department store.

NPA SPOTS (Bill Vander Zalm)

Item is the original. Video features three short advertisments featuring William Vander Zalm and the Non-Partisan Assocation and his bid for Mayor of Vancouver in 1984. Oct. 23, 1984. Post production by Post Haste Productions Inc.

Province Reports: "Superfish," "Pizza," and "High Tech"

Item consists of three, two minute, "Province Reports," with Fred Latremouille, produced by Yaletown Productions for the government of British Columbia's "B.C. Enterprise" program. The first two reports have a clip of Bob McClelland, Minister of Labour. The first, "Enterprise and new ideas," discusses new industry in the province, specially featuring Atlantic fish farming. The second, "Enterprise and export," talks about B.C. exports and features a company in Richmond that exports pizza crusts to the USA. The third, "No.3 High tech," or "Enterprise and high tech," showcases the technology industry in B.C. featuring MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates and a short statement from Pat McGeer, Minister of Universities, Science and Communications.

Item is a promotional short produced by Yaletown Productions Inc. for Simon Fraser University. It highlights the programs and innovative practices at SFU and features interviews of students.

Snowbirds title #2 [music and graphic]

Item contains random pieces of footage including some crime reenactment scenes (that have fairly bad video dropout), Christmas themed graphics featuring actors faces in Christmas decorations, a close-up shot of a Christmas tree ornament, graphics for a Christmas-themed "Sports Page with Dave Rondorf," a Canucks logo with holly, BC Lions logo with a Santa Claus hat, a Christmas Vancouver 86ers logo, other holiday graphics, people at a [Christmas] party, UTV Holiday Magic graphics and advertisement, "Sports Page Freestyle Challenge" graphic, people on a skytrain car as well as footage from the front of a skytrain car near Main St Station, Broadway Station as well as stations in Burnaby and New Westminister, also includes footage of ticket machines, escalators and skytrain cars entering and exiting stations, a graphic/animation that reads "name the three disciplines of freestyle skiing," and a graphic that reads "the first 20 years;" this is the segment that might have been created for the Snowbirds 20th Anniversary celebration documentary. Screens between segments are black or colour bars. The last couple minutes are a black screen with music. Audio is often silent, at times there is classical or jazz music.

Short films are spliced together on this reel. 00:00 - 02:54 a student production by Greg Bellerby with the Vancouver School of Art Film Workshop which consists of music and a slow panning shot of a typed story entitled "Nude world." From 02:55 to 03:52 is a Social Credit politcal advertisement featuring Karen Magnussen and Eric McCue. And 03:53 to 05:21 is raw footage, scenes of the Granville Street riot (silent).

Item is television commercials produced by Yaletown Productions for Manifesto Films Europe. Featuring: IKEA, 20 spots, 5 different commercials each in four language versions. The client is IKEA, and each commercial is presented in German, French, Italian and English. All five English versions come at the end of the tape while the foreign language versions alternate. Commercials grab the viewer's attention with humorous and risque themes.
