The footage shows Crane and Weese talking to each other at False Creek, a backyard and in Beacon Hill Park at the Gay and Lesbian Pride Picnic with Karen Bitz. They take turns filming. Crane's mother and brother Alan Crane are interviewed in a back yard. There is footage from a trip to Salt Spring Island including Ganges Public Harbour, Brian Forester's workshop and home, the Salt Spring coastline and BC Ferries. The 1991 and 1992 Pride Parades are shown and the footage includes speeches given both years at Sunset Beach by Malcolm Crane.

"Morning show" - Stanley Park and Queen Elizabeth Park part #1

Item is a documentary film documenting The Morning Show's coverage of visits to Stanley Park and Queen Elizabeth Park with interviewer Ross Mortimer and host Doug Campbell. The program was aired on CBUT (Channel 2) in 1963 and contains footage of Ross Mortimer's interview in Stanley Park with Stuart Lefeaux, Superintendent of Parks in greater Vancouver. Lefeaux discusses various aspects of the interaction between parks, the Parks Board and the public as well as Parks Board personnel, Stanley Park history, recreational activities, and services offered to the public such as supervised playgrounds and refreshment services. In addition, the film documents a visit to Queen Elizabeth Park including footage of Century Rock, which is a time capsule located there that is to be opened in 2054. During the visit, Ross Mortimer interviews Grace McCarthy, Parks Board Commissioner, about the park's history, current uses and future visions and planning. The film also documents Ross Mortimer's interview with the park's landscape designer who discusses garden design as well as various types of trees and flowers in the park.

This film also contains footage of Nelson Park and Ross Mortimer's interviews with seniors and children in the park about the uses and functions of parks. [Chicago and Minneapolis parks and playgrounds]

Item is a documentary film documenting parks and playgrounds in Chicago and Minneapolis in the United States of America. The film is shot in the winter and contains footage of parks and mostly vacant recreation playgrounds and playground equipment such as a miniature train and horse and carriage. The film also documents people engaged in recreational activities at an ice rink, animals and children in a playground as well as several identifiable locations including the Alder Planetarium (Chicago), the Keith R. Olsen Memorial Recreation Centre, the Stuart Field Minneapolis Park Board building, and Barnum Park. Queen [Royal visits to British Columbia 1939 and 1951]

Item is a reel of amateur films documenting the royal visits to British Columbia in 1939 and 1951. The first part of the film reel contains approximately five minutes of footage of the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Vancouver in May 1939. It includes views of and from Queen Elizabeth Park, and a band procession leading the royal motorcade from the park. Also included are views of crowds lined up along Georgia Street near Howe and in Stanley Park watching the band procession and royal motorcade, followed by views of the Lions Gate Bridge, steamships on Burrard Inlet and Siwash Rock. The film also includes footage of the royal motorcade on Columbia Street in New Westminster, followed by footage of Stanley Park, Prospect Point, Coal Harbour, Lions Gate Bridge, and Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver, all taken from a boat in Burrard Inlet. The second part of the reel film contains approximately nine minutes of footage of H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and H.R.H. Prince Philip's October 1951 visit to Victoria, British Columbia. The footage shows the couple's arrival on the H.M.C.S. Crusader and members of the Canadian Scottish Regiment and the Royal Canadian Artillery performing and greeting the couple prior to their meeting with Premier Byron Johnson in front of the Legislative Buildings. The film also includes scenes of a motorcade to the Empress Hotel and the royal couple exiting the hotel with the Premier, footage of the Princess stopping to tour at an unidentified building, additional motorcade and band footage, and scenes of the royal couple departing on the H.M.C.S. Crusader.

1858-1958 Centenary Vancouver BC

Item is an amateur film documenting early and present-day Vancouver. This film contains footage of the Second Narrows Highway Bridge collapse, construction of the Deas Island Tunnel and Woodward's Oakridge Shopping Centre, as well as footage of Centennial Beach Park, Fort Langley Park, Queen Elizabeth Arboretum and the Bowladrome in Kerrisdale. The exterior and interior of a Vancouver home, including footage of children at play and a Christmas celebration, are also documented. There are also images of still photographs from the early 1900s which document sunbathers at a beach, loggers at work and the Stanley Park Hollow Tree. The16mm release print that the digital child was made from, was struck from the internegative/original negatives, and the optical sound track; it is closest thing to an original in the donation for this production. It is the only record of this movie on film with a soundtrack.

Item is camera original raw footage for "Curse of the Lost Gold Mine." Includes an interview with John F. H. Thompson, a geologist at UBC, who talks about the geology of Pitt Lake, shots of a map of Pitt Lake and Michael Collier plotting out a route on the map, also includes an interview with Mike Boileau, who has been looking into finding gold in the Pitt Lake area since 1979, he talks about the curse, the stories of Pitt Lake, and his own experiences at Pitt Lake.

Tourism B.C. Marketplace Progam [Program] - Expo 86

Item is "Marketplace Program" produced for EXPO 86 and Tourism BC. Major exhibition in BC Pavilion for EXPO 86. Multi-screen laser disc interactive display. Laser discs were very new at this time and cost over $2500 each to manufacture. This laser disc was produced to be used with specially designed players that would allow for touch-screen interaction from visitors to the B.C. Pavilion. These machines no longer exist; to get an idea of what options were made available pause the playback to view what the touch-screen displays looked like.
Item includes visual vignettes featuring footage to represent various geographical areas of the province of British Columbia. Theme music plays in the background of the scenes; no dialogue. Brief written descriptions of each area of the province precede each section of footage.
