The majority of records were created or accumulated by Ted, and pertain to his personal and professional activities. Records concern his relationships with family, friends and colleagues, his career as a publicist and reporter in Hollywood, California and Paris, France, and his involvement in various associations. In addition to Ted s records, the sousfonds also contains records of and pertaining to Octavia Beaton, Mary Beaton, Mary Louise Taylor, Ken Taylor, L.D. Taylor, Annie Louise Taylor, Caroline Little Pierce, Winifred Mabel Pierce and Osborne J. Pierce. Material pertaining to L.D. Includes correspondence from Gladys and Edith Baker, a photograph showing members of the Baker, Yull and Cooley families in 1947 and obituaries for Edith and Ray Stannard Baker. Beaton material includes Octavia Beaton correspondence, George Beaton records and Ted Taylor's notes concerning Beaton relatives. Series consists of Ted Taylor correspondence and other records arranged by Ted into chronological and subject files. Records pertain to Ted s personal and professional activities, and concern his relationships with family members, his marriages, friendships, involvement with various associations, and his career as a Hollywood publicist and journalist, including his work at Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures and Universal Pictures studios. The series also includes several subject files pertaining to L.D. Taylor. File consists of correspondence, inventory lists, an invoice and other material pertaining to the settlement of L.D. Taylor's estate.

L.D.T. [L.D. Taylor - death and funeral]

File consists of correspondence, photographs, notes, lists, inventories, and financial and other records pertaining to the death of L.D. Taylor, his funeral and the settlement of his estate. File includes two photographs of the funeral and two letters from Vancouver City Archivist J.S. Matthews. One letter concerns the naming of "Taylor Manor" in honour of L.D., and the other letter describes the turnout for L.D.'s funeral procession, Matthew's memories of L.D. and his selection of a cigar and L.D.'s chair for the Archives. Also included in the file is correspondence from Ted Taylor to Edith Baker concerning L.D.'s funeral and burial, and correspondence with Ken and various companies pertaining to the settlement of L.D.'s estate and the shipping of items to the U.S. The file also contains Ted's notes concerning the births, deaths and final resting places of immediate relatives in the Taylor and Pierce families, and a death claim statement listing details of L.D.'s health.

File consists of a Christmas card from L.D. Taylor, correspondence and a statement of personal information pertaining to Octavia Beaton's claim for a state pension and a letter pertaining to funeral arrangements for Octavia Beaton.

Series consists of files of records accumulated by L.D. Taylor pertaining to his activities as Mayor, political affairs, issues, and events in Vancouver, his business interests and activities, his property holdings, his family and friends, and his personal activities and interests. The series includes mayoral correspondence files for the years 1910 to 1911, arranged alphabetically. Other correspondence includes letters from Ted and Ken Taylor and other family members pertaining to their careers and activities. Files organized according to subject pertain to issues that Taylor dealt with in his political career, such as the single tax, policing, unions, water supply, False Creek lands, and bridges; his business interests; and his personal and family life. Some files contain notes made by Ted Taylor after L.D.'s death.

Document types include correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, contracts, leases and other legal and financial documents, election material, reports, political cartoons, date books, note books, and ephemera.

File consists of Ted Taylor personal and professional correspondence and notes, newspaper articles, a record book, cards, a photograph and other material. Includes correspondence with L.D. Taylor with Ken Taylor. Outgoing correspondence discusses Ted's work, family activities, and the death of Octavia Beaton. File also includes newspaper articles concerning L.D. and Ted Taylor, and records pertaining to L.D.'s death and Ted and Ken's trip to Vancouver to settle the estate. File also contains a Conference of Studio Unions press release, a photograph of Sam Simpkin and a card from the Screen Actors Guild.

File consists of correspondence pertaining to the death and funeral of L.D. Taylor. Includes two letters from Ted Taylor to Mary Louise Taylor, in which he describes visits to L.D. in the hospital, funeral arrangements, the funeral ceremony and procession through town, as well as local strike activity. File also contains letter from to Ken and Ted from J.S. Matthews, City Archivist, regarding the dispersal of some of L.D.'s possessions.

Octavia Stewart Beaton records

Series consists of records of or pertaining to Octavia Stewart Beaton, arranged into files by Ted Taylor. Correspondents include Ralph Beaton, George Beaton, Bruce Beaton, L.D. Taylor, George Fowler and Ken Taylor. Includes correspondence relating to the death of Mary Beaton Taylor, the birth of Mary Louise Taylor, and Octavia's move to Paris to assist Ted with the care of Mary Louise. The series also contains many letters to and from L.D. Taylor, pertaining to his illness in 1931 and 1932, his activities as Mayor of Vancouver, and the activities of Ted and Ken Taylor. Series also contains an account of a trip to Vancouver and Gilford Island in 1910 and a small amount of material pertaining to Octavia's death. Also included in this series is a diary of Mary Beaton Taylor, dating from 1925. Records includes correspondence, minutes and reports, a diary, poetry, prose, photographs, narrative account, financial records, articles, notes, newspaper clippings, a newsletter, leaflets, pamphlets, programs and notes. Records pertain to family, financial and employment matters for the most part, as well as Octavia's involvement with several organizations, including the Hollywood Woman's Club, the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Red Cross, the British War Relief Association of Southern California and the American Legion Auxiliary in Paris.

The records document the civic administration of the City of Vancouver, and the decisions, events and attitudes that influenced its development, particularly in the first four decades of the twentieth century.

File consists of copies of letters, news articles and photographs relating to L.D. Taylor, possibly provided to Ted Taylor by Vancouver City Archivist J.S. Matthews. Includes a 1932 letter to L.D. from Franklin D. Roosevelt, Matthews' notes regarding his visit with Ted and Ken Taylor in June 1946, an excerpt from Matthews' obituary for L.D., and some historical notes related to Alice Berry Taylor. File also includes photocopies of CVA 1477-107 and CVA 1477-108, a photograph of L.D. Taylor with Amelia Earhart and a few other men on the court house stairs, and a photograph of L.D. standing with some pilots and holding a child wearing an American flag costume.

File consists of records relating to the illness and death of L.D. Taylor, Ken and Ted's resulting trip to Vancouver, and funeral arrangements. Includes correspondence, copies of newspaper articles, a will, lists, notes, four photographs, cards, receipts, a postcard and other material. Includes L.D.'s last will and testament, correspondence to him during his illness, including a wire from Vancouver Mayor John Cornett, a list of pallbearers, sympathy cards, copies of thank you letters to those involved in the funeral ceremony, and copies of newspaper articles concerning L.D.'s death and funeral. File also contains a copy of a letter and related newspaper clipping concerning the donation of a portrait of L.D. Taylor to the Vancouver City Council. Also included in the file are Ted's notes regarding Alice Berry Taylor, events in L.D.'s life, Ken and Ted's activities while in Vancouver, and Ted's work for the Conference of Studio Unions Strategy Committee. Other items in the file include an invitation from L.D. to enrol as a subscriber to his publication "The New Deal," a small booklet advertising The Scenery Shop at 856 Granville Street, a Butchart's Garden postcard, three photographs of Ken and Ted in Vancouver and a photograph of Peter Taylor.

File is a scrapbook given to L.D. Taylor by Ted and Ken Taylor, consisting of newspaper clippings documenting L.D.'s activities, political cartoons (clipped and original), correspondence, ephemera, and photographs. Material was accumulated by L.D. Taylor and is both glued into the book and filed loosely between pages. Includes the first issue of The New Deal (March 26, 1937), a photograph album titled "No. 2163 Monroe St." containing eight photographs (CVA 1477-411) and one loose photograph (CVA 1477-412).

File consists of various newspaper clippings concerning L.D. Taylor, dating from 1912 to 1945, a letter from L.D. to Ted Taylor in 1944, a 1943 letter from Edith Baker to Ted in 1943 with attached newspaper clipping, Ted's biographical notes about L.D., as well as a booklet pertaining to the National Electric Light Association's visit to Vancouver in 1925.

File also contains Mary Louise Taylor correspondence and correspondence with Ken Taylor and L.D. Taylor, which includes several letters from L.D. and attached newspaper clippings. Ted Taylor outgoing correspondence discusses family activities, his career, including work with the War Labor Board, and the Hollywood strike. File also contains a draft review of a Leonard Louis Levinson production and related correspondence. Other records within this file relate to Ted's association with the Central Labor Council, the Los Angeles Newspaper Guild and the Screen Publicists Guild. File also contains a photograph in a Christmas card of Edith and Arthur Baker. Objects in this file are badges from Ken Taylor's military uniform, a Nazi badge and a yellow Star of David badge bearing the German word 'Jude'.

File consists of Ted Taylor's personal and professional correspondence, financial records, two photographs, drafts of writings, notes, minutes, newspaper clippings, cards and other records. File includes several letters to L.D. Taylor and from L.D. to Ted and Ken Taylor. Some letters include newspaper clippings pertaining to L.D. L.D.'s letters also include some discussion of provincial politics, his plans for the development of northern British Columbia, his desire to travel to the Peace River area, and the potential annexation of part of Canada to the U.S. Ted's letters discuss work, family activities and the birth of Mary Louise Taylor's son Peter. File also includes some Octavia Beaton correspondence.
File additionally contains minutes, contitution and bylaws of the People's Education Centre, as well as correspondence, leaflets, invitations and other material from groups such as the National Citizens' Committee for Winifred Lynn, Technocracy, Anti-Fascist Refugee Committee, Screen Cartoonists Guild and the United States Civil Service Commission.
