Mother of Irene Lawrence. This picture taken on the beach at English Bay, Vancouver in 1912. Notice the old bath houses, the long pier (on the left) leading to the popular dance floor. The building under construction in the background is the Sylvia Hotel. The management of the Sylvia Hotel was so intrigued with this post card picture that they borrowed it and had it blown up, quite large, and the finished pictures are hanging in several areas of the hotel."
