File contains a customs certificate which certifies that a Chinese immigrant entering Vancouver in 1892 has paid the head tax. File also contains an 1890 photographic copy (CVA 153-2) of the old Vancouver Immigration Building known as detention shed at that time. File also contains a news clipping and a postcard.

Legal documents

The documents include Returning Officer notification to Cotton that he has been chosen to represent the Vancouver Electoral District (1890); a Deed of Land from D. Oppenheimer to Octavius and Henry Newcombe (1891); a Court Order issued to Cotton (1893) and a subpoena to Cotton to appear in the Supreme Court of B.C. (1897) .
