Whannell, J.P., dated 31 December 1858, one from George Perrier, J.P., at Hill's Bar dated 4 January 1859, and an excerpt of a letter from Governor Moody dated 17 January 1859. There are also four letters sent from Governor Douglas to Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton dated 8 January, 20 January, 5 February, and 10 February 1859.
