C.N.R. hospital train trip, group of army personnel and other officials

Item is a photograph of Army personnel and other officials taken on the railway platform on the occasion of the beginning of a trip on a C.N.R. hospital train. Sherwood Lett, wounded at the Battle of Dieppe, is returning to Vancouver on leave and can be seen here next to a nurse with his arm in a sling (sixth from the left).

The scene is of troops of the Royal Highlanders of Canada (The Black Watch) engaging in exercises at Burton-upon-Strather, North Lincolnshire, England. The photographs were sent to Brigadier Sherwood Lett from England to his Vancouver address in September 1944.
