Fonds consists of correspondence, dock construction contracts, insurance documents, tenders and proposals, reports of various kinds (e.g. tide details), lumber specifications, publications, and architectural drawings relating to the operations of the Robin Hood Mills, and the construction and operation of the Terminal Dock and Warehouse, located in the Vancouver Harbour, north end of Kamloops Street. Dates are: vol. 1 (Nov. 1919 - Aug. 1925); vol. 2 (July 1924 - Feb. 1926); vol. 3 (May 1924 - Feb. 1926). The manager of the Mill and Dock was K. A. McLellan. He corresponded primarily with: Robin Hood Mills head office in Minneapolis (as well as offices in Calgary and Moose Jaw); the International Milling Company, also in Minneapolis; Vancouver Harbour Commissioners; City Engineer's Office; E. J. Ryan Contracting Co. Ltd.; Armstrong, Morrison & Co. Limited Public Works Contractors; etc. All contents are pasted into three large scrapbooks (volume numbers have been assigned by Archives, each volume has stamped numbered pages).

The fonds consists of textual records, including architectural plans and sketches, and photographs relating to the administration and operation of Mercantile Mortgage Company Limited, Estates Investment Limited and the other Thomson family corporate holdings.
Incorporation and capitalization documents and correspondence from 1908 and 1919 exist for both Mercantile Mortgage Company and Estates Investment Limited, respectively. Administrative and operational records include financial statements, operating statements and working papers for both companies, and Argyll House Limited, dating from their inception to the late 1980s, as well as company and Unit Holder audits from the same time period. Unit holder lists, registers, stock certificates and correspondence give investment and investor details from 1908 to 1988. Trustee Company Limited, Mercantile Mortgage Company Limited and Estates Investment Limited Minute Books detail the administration and operation of the companies from their inception in 1908 and 1919 to 1983.
A large number of records detail the property and real estate holdings and mortgage loans held by Mercantile Mortgage Company and Estates Investment Limited. These include building files for each of the significant Vancouver and New Westminster properties which include deeds, photographs, architectural plans and sketches, correspondence with building trades companies in the respective cities, permits for construction in each building and some lease and tenant information. Many of these files date to the late 19th Century or first decade of the 20th century. In addition, a number of building files detail modern upgrades to the buildings including elevator and sprinkler system installation and general upgrades from the 1950s through the 1970s. Some files contain lease and tenant information as well as operating statements and general property management information. Tax assessments and property valuations from the 1970s and 1980s are related to sale agreements for each of the properties. In addition, a number of dockets dating from 1896 to 1921 contain mortgages, agreements of sale, property deeds, real unit property deeds and transfers, and other indentures and contracts related to real estate investments and mortgage loans.
Photographs and colour slides of Gastown and New Westminster buildings and streets detail the development of the buildings and their respective cities and neighbourhoods through the 20th Century.

This fonds is a chronologically-ordered body of records from the personal and work life of Malcolm F. Crane; it also represents a significant sub-group of the records of certain organizations such as SEARCH, PFA, and PCF. Personal papers include correspondence, school assignments, certificates, yearbooks, memorabilia from travels, photographs, and a variety of mostly unpublished literary and academic works including poems, short stories, plays, novels, and essays. Some of these works explore the theme of homosexuality. Records dating from after Crane's death include health records, documents relating to his funeral service and memorial bench, obituaries and tributes, and news coverage of his death (video).
Work papers reflect Crane's involvement in a variety of human rights and gay/lesbian organizations. Larger bodies of records include: correspondence, minutes, reports, briefs, and newsletters from SEARCH (Society for Education Action Research and Counselling on Homosexuality), 1974 - 1983; correspondence, minutes, memos, reports, and conference papers (especially relating to "Coalition on Children" and "Conference on the Family") from SPARC (Social Planning and Review Council of B.C.), 1976 - 1981; records of the PFA (Pride Festival Association) relating to the organization and running of the annual festival including minutes, financial statements, speeches, artists' contracts, event registrations, publicity, plans, photographs etc., 1984 - 1990; and records of the PCF (Pride Community Foundation - an umbrella organization, and the PFA's successor), including both festival records and those related to other programs such as the Witness Assistance Program and the television show "Prism", 1991 - 1993. Also in this category are papers of the IAL / GPC (International Association of Lesbian / Gay Pride Co-ordinators), particularly those relating to the organization of the 1989 conference ("Interpride '89") in Vancouver, which was hosted by the PFA.
Smaller bodies of records include correspondence, minutes, financial statements, constitution, and newsletters from the GLL (The Gay Leisure Link), 1979 - 1993; festival-related records from the PWCC (Pride Week Co-ordinating Committee, predecessor to the PFA), 1984; correspondence, notes, and clippings from the P/GLC (Police / Gay Liaison Committee), 1982 - 1993; minutes and reports of the Outreach Committee, Ryerson United Church, 1976 - 1977; correspondence, minutes, reports, financial statements, and newsletters of the VGCC (Vancouver Gay Community Centre), 1979 - 1993; and various other organizations.
The fonds also contains publications on general social issues (including government publications and works published by SPARC), and publications on gay / lesbian issues and interests. In addition to photographs, non-textual materials include festival buttons, video cassettes (notably episodes of "Prism", a gay / lesbian community affairs program, news coverage of the Pride Festival, and home videos), and audiocassettes on various topics.

The fonds consists of 65 diaries written by Neil Gilchrist from 1910-1975. Neil was 16 in 1910 and wrote an entry every day until he died in 1975. There are two diaries for the year 1918 and includes time he spent in the army. The entries reflect Neil's personal and business life while living in Vancouver. The first half of the diaries include his will. Most of the latter half include a retrospect of the year. Some diaries include a "forward glance" for the upcoming year. The majority of the diaries, especially the later ones, include his cash accounts and balances.

The fonds also includes correspondence, 1910-1942, and other textual records related to the School of Ophthalmology and Optometry in Los Angeles, as well as a photographs, 1886-1924, showing family, friends, scenes around Vancouver and British Columbia as well as a travel album from around the world.
