Item consists of the portrait which adorned the headlight of C.P.R. 374, a 44 x 57 cm coloured poster of Queen Victoria, bordered with scenes depicting aspects of her reign. On May 23, 1887 - the eve of Queen Victoria's birthday in the Golden Jubilee year of her reign - the first trans-Canada passenger train from Montreal made its entrance into Vancouver. The locomotive - C.P.R. 374 - was decorated with flowers, legends and this portrait of Queen Victoria.
