Arts Edge : World AIDS Day 1993

Item is a videocassette containing a recording of Arts Edge hosted by Ara Parker. At the Art Council of Vancouver on Davie Street. This episode was created in honour of World AIDS Day and celebrates gay artists and their work addressing sexuality and AIDS. The program includes two feature documentaries. "It Will Not Last the Night: The Theatre of Larry Lillo", a Point of View Film Production runs from 13:20 to 01:13:22. "Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane and Company", an Antelope West Production for BBC Television runs from 01:19:46 until 02:19:12. The program also contains interviews with Queer City Co-curators Paul Lang, Daniel Collins and Nhan Duc; Ingrid Alderson; Roxanne Cave; Joe Average; and Vancouver Men's Chorus members Scott Lewis and Willi Zwozdesky (Conductor).

Make Magic 2001

Item is a videocassette showing edited footage recorded at Make Magic, the 18th Annual IAGSDC [International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs] Convention at the Westin Bayshore Hotel and Resort, Vancouver from April 12 to 15, 2001. The video begins with an intro showing Vancouver nature and cityscapes, and general conference scenes with music by the Vancouver Men's Chorus. The intro is followed by a list of all participating clubs and callers and then a speech by Bill Monroe. The next portion of the video is a dance by Squares Across the Borders to "Heroes are Just the Same" called by Anne Uebelacker. The footage continues to show scenes from the conference including square dancing at the hotel with callers Todd Fellegy, Steve Edlund, Tom Miller, Ray Brendzy, and Anne Uebelacker; HTQ 2001 hosted by Ucanleime Amy and Virginia Hamm; banquet highlights featuring Bill Monroe and Miss Betsy Gotta receiving the Golden Boot Award; and the Magical Mystery Tour (escorted by the Vancouver City Police Motorcycle Drill team) dancing at Ceperly Park, Vanier Park, Spanish Banks, Queen Elizabeth Park and Library Square; and concluding with scenes from the closing ceremonies.

Part two : the Queens Speech

Item is videocassette showing various programs from the 7th Annual IAGSDC [International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs] Convention, North Star Promenade held in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. The tape begins with Bill Monroe delivering a speech and then shows various dance sequences, footage of association members preparing for performances and a group touring sites around Vancouver.

#1 - Starry Night II

Item is a videocassette containing the first half of Starry Night II, a benefit show at the Arts Club Theatre with proceeds that went to the Persons With AIDS Coalition. The show was hosted by Bill Monroe. Performers include Sister Lynn, Robbie King, Neils Petersen, the cast of Angry Housewives, Kendra, the Melloyds, and the Vancouver Men's Chorus.

Dot Party

Item is a videocassette containing a recording of the 3rd Annual Dot Party hosted by Bill Monroe. Performers include ted northe, [Teddy LaTour], Polly Ester, Myria LeNoir, Iris, Chris Peterson, [Fistful of Crinolines], [Ray Armour], Ms. Daisy, Ms. Ginger, Eleanor, [Bella Blossom] and the Glossettes, [Bo Vine]. Performances are followed by the announcement of the new Ms. Dot.

Item is a videocassette containing the second half of Starry Night II, a benefit show at the Arts Club Theatre with proceeds that went to the Persons With AIDS Coalition. The show was hosted by Bill Monroe. Performers include Lelani Marrell, Aaron Shields performing choreography by Judith Marcuse, Anne Mortifee, Bruce Kellett, Gail Bowen, Rae Armour, Lynda Boyd, Robert McQueen, Jane Mortifee and Marcus Mosely.
