[Martin Matthews' house in Palmerston, New Zealand]

Martin Matthews' note on verso reads "This is 59 Ferguson Street, Palmerston, North Island, New Zealand, which took me a year to build and layout the grounds. I had a man for 3 weeks to get roof on and hold long boards. It is a 7 roomed Maori Bungalow. Only one fireplace, all gas, and electricity elsewhere. Build on 1/4 acre section. The main entrance is on the side. The house on the left is our old house which I have rented. The large bay window is the dining room, middle window is a spare bedroom, and the corner bay window is a sitting room, but I use it for a bedroom, it is so sunny in winter."
