Footage shows jets landing, flying, taxiing and taking off. Footage includes shots of other buildings and air hangars. Also buildings and traffic at night, Footage was transferred from film to video before transfer to the archives; sprocket holes can be seen at times. At times there is a ring of shadow around the outer rim of the frame.

Wire

Item is a short independent film filmed, directed and edited by Michael Collier. The three actors are: Dennis MacDonald, Gary Killeen and Dave Ponsart. Film depicts three men who find some insulated wire in the ocean [at wreck beach], drag it into a pile, hitchhike to downtown Vancouver, and then travel around downtown dragging the wire on the sidewalk behind them. Eventually the wire is left to one man who drags it on his own for a while until he leaves it in the car of a man from whom he hitched a ride. Popular music soundtrack.

Pilot Captain Marc Roberts delivers various takes of an anti-drug message in both English and French. Includes footage of the Sky hawks team members interacting with the public, as well as several takes of a group anti-drug message delivered in both English and French, footage ends with team members sleeping on the airplane.

Out of Bounds : A Race to the End of the Earth] [with breaks, master]

Item is a one hour television documentary, narrated by Leslie Nielsen, featuring two Canadian grandmothers in an air race from New Jersey, USA, to the southern tip of South America and back. The story follows the pilots through the trials, dangers, and joys of the race over the course of almost three weeks. Of the nine planes that started, only six complete the race. Includes footage of workers constructing circuit boards (motherboards), close-ups of circuit boards, other technology industry related shots, a man working on mapping computer on a boat, and other machines processing and being inspected by workers.

Water Colours

"Water Colours" is an experimental art film by Michael Collier. Collier used music, colour manipulations, optical printing effects, and other techniques to create an overall psychedelic effect. It was chosen to be the opening short for Pink Floyd's "The Wall" which played in theatres across Canada. "Water Colours" was purchased by the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa and was included in a series of films that played in galleries and cities around the world including New York, London, and Paris.

Film depicts man watching the water in a river. The river water becomes a psychedelic flow of colours as does the landscape around the river. Two other men arrive and appear to float and dance on the rocks. The colour and image manipulations effect the men, the rocks, the river and the landscape creating a strange and wonderful dream or imagination landscape.

Film is a promotional video for the province of British Columbia. Focusing on different sections of the province in turn the video highlights the features and tourist attractions of each. According to the donor this is most likely the original of the final production with sound and image. Film shows a man sleeping and dreaming of driving nails into various objects or simply smashing them with a hammer. When he wakes up he leaves home with his lunch bucket and then quickly returns for his hammer. Music soundtrack.

Item is raw footage shot for a one hour television network documentary featuring Canada's Military parachute team, the Sky hawks. This tape is footage taken from the ground of members of the film crew trying out skydiving, including Richard [Tomkies] and [Donnelly Rhodes]. The cameraman and his colleagues appear unaware that the microphone is on; some swearing. Original camera source tape 14.
