Fonds consists of records created by the Dunbar Historical Society in the process of writing a book: "The Story of Dunbar: Voices of a Vancouver Neighbourhood" (2006).

Records include audio tapes of interviews, some transcriptions of the interviews, notes and other information gathered at the time of the interviews, organizational records of the Dunbar History Project, other research carried out for the purpose of writing the book, photographs gathered from interviewees, as well as other research sources used for the writing of the book.

The fonds is divided into two series following the arrangement used by the creators; the Administration records and Research records. Each series is further organized into subseries:

-Fundraising records

Research records:
-History resources subject files
-Interview tapes
-Interview worksheets and transcriptions
-Photographs
