File includes four letters from his mother Margaret Gilchrist, 1918, 1942; a letter from Mrs. McQuarrie in Armstrong, B.C., 1918; a letter from his uncle Neil Gilchrist in California, 1912; a letter from Ros [Roswell] Bryson, 1910; and a letter from his aunt Mary McIntosh, 1918.

Item is a photograph album showing various scenes of family, friends, classmates, school events, Provincial Normal School boys' and girls' basketball teams, leisure activities, Labour Day parades; geographic areas include around Vancouver and the lower mainland including English Bay and Second Beach, as well as various locations from around the province such as Victoria, Buccaneer Bay, Armstrong, Vernon, Harrison and other sites. The album also includes photographs showing ships and soldiers in uniform from World War I, including Witley Camp, England and Signal Hill in Esquimalt, B.C., including portraits and group photographs.

Diary entries for July 31 - Aug 18 are blank as Neil was away at camp and had a specific diary for camp (which is missing).

Item is a photograph album consisting of two parts, the first made up of 43 photographs taken by Robert Strain showing his trip around the world, including Egypt, India, and Singapore. The second part of the album is 38 photographs taken by Gilchrist showing scenes in Vancouver and other parts of British Columbia including various sites in Stanley Park, English Bay, Second and Third Beach, Alexandra Park, Cultus Lake, Howe Sound, Cheewasin [Tsawwassen] and other regions.
