The pamphlet is a combination of: an invitation ("The Board of Park Commissioners requests . . . and all pioneers of Vancouver resident here before the arrival of the first passenger train, 23rd May, 1887, to assemble as their guests at dinner, The Pavilion, Stanley Park, Monday, 7th May, 1956, at 6 P.M."); a program ("Notable Pioneer Guests, Mrs. Alice Crakanthorp, Miss Margaret Florence McNeil, Mr. Frederick Charles Macey . . . "); and an informational brochure (illustration of the first coat-of-arms 1886-1903, illustration of "Our First City Hall", John Innes illustration of the "first meeting of the First City Council, 10th May, 1886", chronology of January to June 13th, 1886, information on the "First Election" held 3 May 1886 and "First Council Meeting" held 10 May 1886, and the text of the "Petition for the Incorporation of the City of Vancouver" which had been presented to Provincial Parliament 15 Feb. 1886). On back cover: "Printed by Brock Webber Printing Co. Ltd.".
