The first two plans, one blueprint and one oilcloth, are identical drawings of the first and second floors of the house. Presented to City of Vancouver by the Vancouver Daily Province, June 13, 1951"; these records are the Coroner's Precept, the Inquisition, and records of evidence submitted. The inquest was held on 14 June 1886, summoned by J.C. Hughes, Coroner, and conducted before twelve jurors. The victims were John Craswell and others.

Collection also includes a judgement of the Lords of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council on the appeal of the City of Vancouver vs. the Vancouver Lumber Company (and Theodore Ludgate) and on an appeal from the Court of Appeal of British Columbia. Collection consists of two videos and associated papers of C.P.R. Locomotive 374, which pulled the first transcontinental passenger train into Vancouver on May 23, 1887. The Great Barrier video was filmed at Three-Valley Gap in 1937 to commemorate the 50th. anniversary of the arrival of the locomotive in Vancouver. The video 374, Hail the Conquering Hero, created in the late 1980s, documents the restoration of the locomotive and the community's involvement and attitudes towards it.

Records document assessments from the New Westminster Land District (which between 1880 and 1896 included lands which currently make up the City of Vancouver) 1880-1898; the collection includes volumes 1-58 of those assessments. The province created a separate Vancouver Assessment District in 1896; the collection includes volumes 1-23 of those assessments.
